Rated 4 out of 5 by from Awesome Truly a game changer for indoor training. Minus a star because I live in fear of experiencing some of the rampant technical issues that seem to be affecting these units, the fix for which is pure comedy gold. The electronics on these things are so delicate and sensitive, that the provided power bricks now have a *huge* capacitor to buffer even the slightest power surges. By *huge*, I mean that the led on the brick will stay on for a good minute and a half after unplugging from the wall outlet. While this solution is an effective bandaid, the larger issue remains - poor electronic design on the kickr units themselves has left them vulnerable to failure. This really doesn’t give me a lot of faith that thing is going to last more than a year or two. Wahoo has been at this game for a couple years now, and really should know better than this.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love the trainer, great customer service I bought one of the first ones out in distribution. The downside to being an early adopter is sometimes there are bugs that don't get identified until mass production. After about 6 weeks of regular use the power data failed sending to apps. While frustrating, Wahoo quickly sent a replacement (7 days after I contacted them I was riding again). Ideal? No but it's super quiet, works great with the apps, and when I did have an issue customer service was quick to fix it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Awesome function, only cosmetic flaw I have been using for a month. Pairs easily. Smooth and quiet. There are chevron shaped stickers on the fly wheel, and many of these have peeled off within the first use. I have not yet asked for a replacement set since they do not really serve a purpose other than aesthetics.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Almost a "Great" Value! Awesome trainer! But I would recommend the Kickr Flagship Trainer at a sale price over the Kickr Core. Let me explain. The Kickr Core does not come with anything! Nothing! So you have to purchase a cassette, thats fifty bucks, every single app encourages to you keep a specific cadence. So you need to spring for a cadence sensor if you don't have one. No training block for your front wheel, so your bike may sit a slight slope the whole ride, mines does (I have 58 cm frame). Sure you could use a book or two, but you just bought a high end trainer, a cheap wheel block would have been a nice edition that i didn't have to buy! So if you did purchase those extras you are now within range of the flagship trainer! You could spend another 100 easy on those other parts alone. So i dont think that the value is there at full price for this trainer. If it cost less sure! The pros are: The Kickr Core rides like a dream and has more than enough power and resistance for the average rider. I owned the Kickr Snap before as well. Its an awesome trainer too, but there is a noticeable difference in ride quality between these two. This trainer is where it's at! It's very responsive to wattage increases and decreases, and it makes these adjustments in a very mild and subtle way where you are still able to feel the difference even if it is in incremental changes. Its never jerky in its shifts in power. If your bike chain sounds like trash on the trainer like mine did, you may need a tune up, that fixed my awful chain performance right up, now all you hear is a smooth chain. The flywheel is not silent, but its very very very quite. Impressively so, especially if you have, or had another trainer to compare it too. I love my Kickr Core, you will too, but if you can upgrade or find the flagship on sale, get that one. One other note, my wife rides a 47cm disc brake road bike, the way her rear bike is designed it barely fits on the trainer because of some weird hanger, and her frame would not allow it to work with the The Kickr Climb because the frame would come in contact with the trainer if it was moved to far up. Wahoo support confirmed that the bike would have the same issue on the Flagship as well. So just a note of caution for folks with Disc breaks. Her frame is not through axle disc breaks either.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Brilliant but indexing gears is a Pain I bot the kicker a month ago - Fantastic feel but index the gears with my bike is frustrating, other than that, I think this bad boy will get my fitness up. Its brilliant and I can do it when ever. Should come with the cassett when you order -

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Trainer but loud Clicking Noise The trainer is an excellent companion for Zwift. The power readings are accurate and the resistance reacts quickly to changes in Zwift's virtual terrain. I haven't had a problem with bluetooth connectivity and there isn't a noticeable lag. The issue I have with the trainer is that after a period of time, a loud clicking noise can be heard as the flywheel spins. I'm not sure what's causing the issue.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Core in combination with Zwift is awesome :) Last year i bought a simple trainer without any bluetooth conncetion. So Zwift was not possible. After some time the training was boring because there was no challanges. So with the annoucment of the Core i deside to buy it. After some rides i could say that it was a good decision :) First it is super fast connected to Zwift without big actions. And the handling during a training in Zwift is so nice. So you have a lot of challanges during the indoor training. But there is one thing who is not good. The arrows on flywheel a flying away during the training. For this i have to take away a star.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Easy Assembly I bought this to get a more road feel and end the boredom of an indoor trainer. So far it has met my expectations

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Reasonably pleased They don't call it the clicker for nothing! This was my first smart trainer and as a concept and price point it didn't disappoint. Size good as well. I moved from a bog standard cyclops wheel trainer and this was so much better. The only issue, like many was the clicking noise. This was rectified by a user fix sent quickly by Wahoo. Luckily I am pretty confident with the spanners so easily completed. Such a shame it left the factory with this defect.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great trainer - However issues after 3hrs I have to say firstly the trainer is excellent and quiet... Until 3hours in it has developed a clicking sound which is now getting louder and vibrating through the bike so had to stop using. Non in stock and awaiting feed back of a replacement.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Doesn't work with Canyon Ultimate Unfortunately the chain stay of the ultimate cf slx from canyon is too narrow to fit the housing of the axle of the kickr. Despite this, it's working superb. 100% silent, very fast resistance change and very stable.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Nightmare to mount bike with adaptors If you have to use the weak magnetic adapters for different axle lengths, have fun, it’s a nightmare. I can speak for mounting a 148 Boost frame, and by the time you’re done, you don’t need to work out any more because you just spent 45 min trying to get the little thing to stay in place while trying to get the bike on. For the price of this it’s a bit absurd and a poor design. Otherwise, not impressed overall. Bluetooth doesn’t always connect, takes several resets, unplugging, plugging back in, to get it to work. It makes loud noises from time to time, and scratching noises when the flywheel starts up, then eventually smooths out. On the positive it’s heavy, and direct drive is nice, no changing wheels or tires to use your trainer. Id be fine with it for a 3rd of the price. Unfortunately waited too long and can’t return it.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Suddenly stuck and can't figure it out. It was a pretty good experience for the first 10 days.
Date published: 2018-11-15
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Doesn't Connect to Zwift via bluetooth I was really excited about the prospect of loading strava routes via my Elemnt or connecting to zwift via my computer. Unfortunately none of those work. The only app it connects to is the wahoo fitness app...which requires you to manually adjust the resistance...not sure why i need a smart trainer to do this. Adding insult to injury, the flywheel squeaks when in use and one of the stickers fell off a day after i used it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Bad quality 1st unit bad oit of box, 2nd unit worked 2 days, 3rd unit failed after a month.
Date published: 2019-03-25
Rated 1 out of 5 by from SECOND DEFECTIVE UNIT Just like crgrigsby, uberbania, zwifty and probably many more Kickr Core users the unit stops sending power and speed data after a while, presumably caused by an issue with an optical sensor. My first one gave up after 2 weeks - the replacement after 2 minutes! Sent them both back to the vendor and I am waiting for a response from Wahoo Customer Support. I am kind of sad, because my first two weeks with the Kickr Core were great fun indoor training!!!
Date published: 2019-03-22
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Multiple Defective Units! Wahoo openly acknowledges a known manufacturing defect in the Kickr Core that causes the optical sensor to fail but continues to actively sell this product without issuing a recall for all the dealers and consumers stuck buying a defective unit. Even the replacement unit they sent me with the new and improved power supply was dead on arrival, so now they are sending me the "platinum fix" that Wahoo says will actually addresses the defect in the unit's circuit board. In other words, Wahoo is still trying to spend as little money as possible on a solution to a major manufacturing defect that is affecting many people.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Worked for 20 rides, then zero watts Picked this up from the LBS. When it worked, it was awesome. A couple dropouts mid-ride, usually once a ride. Worked one night just fine with no dropouts. The very next day, connected just fine and spun up, but no watts registered. Tried every app I could, one at a time, but couldn't even do a spindown. Have contacted support, but for what I paid, I'm not pleased.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from 5 stars or 1 star? When it works 5 stars. When it stops sending power info to your device, 1 star. Save your receipt I think you might need it. Tech support is really slow and by looking over the 1 star reviews the missing power is a serious problem. Back to the fluid trainer, bummed but at least it works!
Date published: 2019-01-10
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Failed after 5 hours of use I loved it..when it worked!! It failed and while the techs are nice the service queue is mammoth and the only solution is replacement. ours failed on 12/29, and we are STILL WAITING for satisfactory resolution. :(

Rated 1 out of 5 by from broke after 100 miles bought this 2 weeks ago. initial setup was easy. after 100 miles the trainer will pair up but stopped sending power output to wahoo app and other 3rd party apps. This means no resistance. The trainer itself doesn't have any buttons you just plug and play. If something goes wrong i guess you use the app to troubleshoot. If that doesn't work its a brick. Don't throw your box away like i did.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Broken straight out of the box- awesome job Wahoo! Excited to receive my Kickr Core but, immediately on opening the packaging, I pulled the unit out and spun the flywheel and was horrified to hear a pronounced scraping sound as it span. Something is grinding inside the unit as it spins and I see online that I’m not the only one with this issue. I thought I was buying a premium product with Wahoo- I certainly paid a premium price. Very disappointed.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Two different Wahoo Core and the same problem I received the first Wahoo Kickr Core; and after used it three times, I started to hear a sound inside of the Core when the roller was rolling. The problem was not only the sound, the inside clash started to stope quicker the rolling movement. After to get in contado with the customer support, they have replaced the defect Wahoo Kick Core. Today I have recieved the new Wahoo Kickr Core, and front the first movement of the roller, there is a louder sound from inside of the Core. And it is stope even earlier than the first Core. The worst thing is that The second Wahoo Kickr Core has signs of second hand, so it is not the first time that some one has used my second Wahoo Kick Core. I will give back the Wahoo Kick Core and request my money back.
