Engineering Lab Technician
Department: Hardware Engineering
Location: WahooHQ in Atlanta, GA
Reports to: Hardware Engineering Lead & Lab Manager
The Engineering Lab Technician supports the Mechanical and Electrical Engineering teams by building and reworking prototype hardware, executing tests, and capturing clear, structured data across Wahoo’s product line. This role combines hands-on mechanical and basic electrical lab work— including test fixture fabrication, 3D printing, and PCBA and cable rework—with day-to-day ownership of lab organization, equipment maintenance, and sample management to keep development moving quickly and reliably.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Support Mechanical and Electrical engineers across the product lifecycle by building and assembling prototype units and subassemblies, executing test plans, capturing structured data, and clearly communicating results and observed issues.
- Set up and run mechanical tests on prototypes including static, fatigue, and basic environmental or abuse tests while recording quantitative measurements and qualitative observations such as noise, feel, and failure modes.
- Design, build, and maintain mechanical test fixtures and apparatuses using 3D printing, off-the-shelf hardware, and basic machining or hand tools to enable repeatable, reliable testing.
- Perform mechanical rework and basic failure investigations by disassembling and reassembling units, incorporating design changes or test hypotheses, identifying obvious mechanical issues, and documenting findings with photos and notes.
- Operate and maintain 3D printers by managing print queues and materials, troubleshooting basic print issues, post-processing printed parts, and assembling them into fixtures or prototypes.
- Provide day-to-day electrical support by performing soldering and rework on prototype PCBAs (through-hole and basic SMD), building and repairing cable harnesses and adapters, and using bench equipment under Electrical Engineering guidance.
- Assist with basic electrical debugging by following EE-defined checklists, gathering measurements, swapping components to isolate faults, and maintaining clear records of revisions, rework performed, and test outcomes.
- Own the day-to-day organization of the hardware lab by keeping benches, tools, fixtures, and materials labeled and tidy and reinforcing simple borrow-and-return norms.
- Maintain lab equipment and consumables by monitoring inventory, restocking common supplies, coordinating repairs or service, and flagging issues with lab tools, printers, or fixtures.
- Manage lab samples and scrap by tagging and storing prototypes and test units in an organized manner and coordinating teardown or disposal of retired samples.
Qualifications & Skills
- Hands-on experience in an engineering lab, test lab, prototyping shop, or similar environment supporting hardware development.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with comfort assembling complex electromechanical systems from BOMs, drawings, or instructions.
- Confidence using hand tools, basic machine shop equipment, and precision measurement tools.
- Solid soldering and electrical rework skills, including through-hole and basic SMD components.
- Experience building and repairing cable harnesses and connectors.
- Ability to read basic mechanical drawings and electrical schematics or wiring diagrams.
- Comfort using lab instrumentation such as bench power supplies, DMMs, and basic oscilloscopes.
- Strong documentation habits including clear notes, photos, labeling, and organized data files.
- Reliable, organized, and consistent presence in the lab with the ability to juggle multiple requests and negotiate priorities.

- Experience with cycling, running, or fitness equipment such as indoor trainers, treadmills, power meters, or wearables.

HR Generalist

Reporting directly to the Head of HR, the Human Resources Generalist performs various human resource duties in recruiting, benefits, training, employee relations, immigration, HRIS maintenance, reporting and compliance. The HR Generalist is also responsible for managing our Global Headquarters in Atlanta, GA and leads global cultural engagement. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in Human Resources, possess an ownership mindset, a curious and creative mind, and strong attention to detail. In this role, you will:

Mechanical Engineer
Department: Hardware Engineering

Reports to: Hardware Engineering Lead
The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for designing and developing electromechanical fitness products across Wahoo’s indoor and outdoor training ecosystem, from early concept through mass production and into sustaining engineering and ongoing improvements. This role blends hands-on design, analysis, and lab work with close collaboration across Electrical, Firmware, Industrial Design, and Quality teams to deliver reliable, high-performance products.
Responsibilities
- Own mechanical design of subsystems and assemblies for electromechanical fitness products, including structures, mechanisms, drive systems, enclosures, and interfaces to electronics, from concept through production release.
- Select and integrate motors, transmissions, and power train components such as belt and gear drives, bearings, shafts, flywheels, and couplings, working closely with Electrical and Firmware teams on control, safety, and performance tradeoffs.
- Build and iterate robust 3D CAD models and drawings in SolidWorks, including parts, complex assemblies, exploded views, and GD&T, ensuring designs are manufacturable, serviceable, and compatible with Wahoo’s PLM and configuration management practices.
- Apply engineering analysis including hand calculations, FEA, tolerance stacks, and material selection to ensure structural integrity, stiffness, durability, and reliability under realistic loads and lifetime usage profiles.
- Define and support verification and validation plans, partnering with lab technicians and Quality to develop fixtures, tests, and pass/fail criteria, analyze test data, support DFMEA, and ensure compliance with regulatory and safety standards.
- Collaborate with Industrial Design and Product Management to translate user stories and experience requirements into clear mechanical specifications while balancing performance, cost, manufacturability, and aesthetics.
- Work directly with suppliers and contract manufacturers to bring designs into production, including DFM, DFA, and DFQ reviews, tooling decisions, and issue resolution during EVT, DVT, and PVT builds.
- Use scripting and simple tools such as Python to streamline engineering workflows, process test data, automate analysis tasks, or support basic test rigs.
- Collaborate with Firmware and Electrical teams to define interfaces, bring up prototypes, and debug cross-disciplinary issues while maintaining ownership of mechanical design and performance.
Minimum Qualifications
- B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- 3–5 years of experience designing electromechanical products from concept through launch.
- Strong proficiency in SolidWorks for complex assemblies, detailed drawings, and PLM-controlled releases.
- Solid understanding of motor-driven system fundamentals including statics, dynamics, fatigue, vibration, friction, bearings, shafts, belt and gear drives, and safety factors.
- Experience performing structural analysis using hand calculations and FEA in SolidWorks Simulation.
- Experience with metal manufacturing processes such as machining, sheet metal, extrusions, castings, and stamping, with an understanding of DFM and cost tradeoffs.
- Experience with plastics and composite manufacturing processes including injection molding and extrusion.
- Experience planning and interpreting mechanical tests, including durability, abuse, and environmental testing.
- Comfort working with embedded electronics, sensors, and wiring, including mounting, routing, and strain relief.
- Strong communication skills and ability to thrive in a fast-moving, cross-functional team.
Preferred Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience designing electromechanical products.
- Experience with fitness, sports, or cycling hardware such as indoor trainers, smart bikes, or connected exercise equipment.
- Demonstrated use of modern digital tools, including AI-assisted workflows, to accelerate mechanical design, analysis, or documentation.
- Experience using Python, MATLAB, or similar tools to automate tests, analyze data, or build engineering utilities.

Product Manager - App Ecosystem

The product manager will work with the software services and special projects team as needed. They will own their product features from start to finish by crafting PRDs that clearly define the technical requirements, supporting the execution by attending stand-ups, representing their product in launch management, and communicating with key stakeholders. The PM of Ecosystem will be responsible for defining and owning Wahoo App ecosystem work, including functionality in support of hardware, onboarding experience, account settings, and any bugs related to the hardware-software experience. This PM will be the voice of the hardware within the Wahoo App. This includes supporting and expanding on the already existing functionality below:

Key Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional support to customers via email, chat, and phone, ensuring quick and complete resolution of inquiries.
- Identify and address customer issues by determining the cause, proposing effective solutions, expediting corrections, and following up to ensure satisfaction.
- Utilize the customer service management system (e.g., Zendesk) to log, track, and manage interactions.
